“Have you ever heard the Statement, ‘Judgment begins in the House of God’?”1 Pet 4:17

Notice how this statement is often thunderously directed towards the congregation, yet it is the leaders we see falling.

A lot is happening in the church today, and much of it has little to do with the Great Commission. Instead, it reflects each leader’s interpretation of how to conduct church, often straying from biblical principles and becoming territorial. But the Lord is God; He doesn’t attend our elders’ meetings, so He won’t act on the minutes the pastor wants actioned. Joshua once asked, “Are you for us or for our enemies?” to which the Lord replied, “Neither. I AM THE CAPTAIN.”

For some, this might border on heresy, especially in churches that see themselves as the sole voice of God. I share this because I have witnessed the suffering of the Lord’s people and now understand the Lord’s stance against all elements that restrain His Church. Internally, I am growing in the same stance of no longer tolerating misguided leadership.

I envisage sharing more on this subject in the future. For now, I leave you with a thought that came to me in prayer in the form of a question:

Lord, what do you have against the leadership?

“They make my people forget my presence.”
